| THE OBSERVER 2006
"Two years ago the owners of Crumpet decided that what Clapham needed was a proper, modern tearoom with excellent food and drink, plenty of space for pushchairs and a positive attitude to small children. Today the cafe is is an essential stop-off for parents and kids. Grown-ups are taken care of too: there's a bar counter at the front where those without children can chill out and read the paper.

| CHEAP EATS 2005/2006
"Teas are taken seriously here, with a choice of 22 .... and there are plenty of wholesome snacks too. Daily specials (maybe quiche or courgette and leek soup), all kinds of sandwiches, salads and Welsh rarebit are typical choices. Organic soft drinks and a good kid's menu are also on hand to refuel play weary tots".

| FIREFLY
"It has quickly established a reputation as the best place for tea in the area - impressive given the wealth of options for ladies who lunch on the Northcote Road. Crumpet makes its own blends of tea, and their homemade cakes, scones and lemon cake are worth the trip alone. However if you're after something more substantial, their magnificent toasted sandwiches will do the trick".

"Crumpet takes the biscuit for child-friendliness.Staff are saints in the face of awkward requests from fussy customers and cake-lobbing toddlers. The menu offers wholesome lunches and proper teas. The sarnies are made with real butter and fresh ingredients.
For kids, cheese toasted fingers were golden and oozy, and there are also great pasta dishes. Cakes made by local mummies are typically yummy".
